What was your favorite childhood toy? Why?
My favorite childhood toy was a Lego set. This is because it allowed me to unleash my creativity and build anything I could imagine, from towering castles to futuristic spaceships. It was like having a world of possibilities in a box.
What kinds of toys did you play with when you were a kid? Why?
I played with a variety of toys, but mostly action figures and board games. The reason for this is that I loved enacting exciting adventures with the action figures and strategizing with my family during board game nights. It was a great way to bond with family and have fun together.
Do you still have any of your old toys? Why/why not?
Unfortunately, I don’t have many of my old toys anymore. Over the years, I gave most of them away to younger cousins and friends. However, I did keep a few sentimental items, like a teddy bear from my grandmother, which holds special memories.
What do you think of high-tech toys? Why?
I have mixed feelings about high-tech toys. On the one hand, they can be educational and entertaining, introducing children to technology and coding. On the other hand, I worry that they might replace traditional play and limit children’s imagination. To clarify, I think it’s important to strike a balance between high-tech and traditional toys.
Do you think boys and girls like different toys? Why/why not?
While there might be some general trends, I don’t believe boys and girls inherently like different toys. Research indicates that children’s preferences are largely shaped by their environment and upbringing. For instance, a girl raised in a household that encourages STEM activities might be more interested in building sets than dolls.
